Holy Crap, a meteor.

Now imagine this rock had the size of a mountain and you can imagine how the dinosaurs must've crapped their pants.
Pretty scary.

I've never seen this before.

This aerolite had a diameter of 3 meters approximately. Just look at the damage it caused. Now imagine it was the 50 meter 2012 DA14. Sweet dreams :D

I Seen a video of this earlier on Youtube and you could hear how loud that explosion was, I Would've been thinking it was the end of the world or something if I heard that!
I Think I heard that the meteor was coming from the opposite direction as the Asteroid so they probably werent related.

That was pretty cool. Though,I may have shat my pants if I was witnessing it first hand.

I guess it is pretty cool to see something like this in person. Given the size of the fire-ball it was obvious that the object was small and not potential threat, but the explosion was pretty cool! I've seen few meteors, big enough to leave such traces in the sky, but unfortunately none of them had exploded.

I'm wondering if this fragment is somehow related to the 45 meters long asteroid that's going to miss the Earth tonight. It's going to be only 30 000 km away from us, which is very close.

Well I would be pretty scared to see a fireball falling from the sky without been previously warned that it would be harmless.

Apparently NASA has stated they're not related. It's a funny coincidence though.

It's funny coincidence indeed. At first I thought what happened in Russia earlier today was not a big deal, but after watching the news on TV, and reading more about, I'm starting to think it was probably scarier than I originally considered. The size of the meteor was not serious concern in this case, but the explosion itself was probably disturbing experience. If you think about it, probably objects with the size of the one exploded over Russia, fall everyday but most of them explode over or hit unhabited areas or the ocean.

Personally, I find meteors beautiful, and I love watching meteor showers.
